In Annabeth Rosen’s current exhibition Into the Deep, works on paper dominate the gallery walls, creating an installation of tangled and twisted forms. The work subsumes the viewer in a visceral world of lush animation that reveals an interior process as well as the natural world as one explores the venue.
The exhibition includes new collage works that dissect and reconfigure the swirls on paper from fleshy plains of work into flattened, striated panels.
Rosen’s newest ceramic work, shown here in three small sculptures, continues the artist’s exploration of viewing clay as abstractions from nature in colors that mimic flesh and organic matter.
Please join us for a reception with the artist on Saturday, October 1 from 4-7pm in our upstairs gallery at Minnesota Street Project.
