In Find the Connections, Anglim/Trimble presents an exhibition that asks the viewer to use their skills of observation to identify links between different works.
What are the materials and mediums connecting the works? Are there connections between color and pattern? Do ceramics and paintings share commonalities? To answer these questions opens paths to interpreting and understanding a curator’s intent.
How a curator develops an exhibition can vary. Often the decisions are intuitive and in other situations there are specific parameters. Other skills that come into play are placement and lighting. The curator often identifies adjacencies in works and can seek to highlight these by their placement within an exhibition.
The artists in this exhibition are Kim Anno, John Buck, Castrato, Veronica DeJesus, Keith Hale, Grace Munakata, Richard Shaw, M. Louis Stanley, Benji Whalen, Xiaoze Xie and Arngunnur Yr.
